Boundary Waters Care Center (BWCC), an independent 503(c)(3) non-profit, has served the Ely, Minnesota area since 1958.

BWCC has a team of 50 professionals who serve 100 individuals each year with personalized care, and comprehensive rehabilitation services.

We are united by a common passion— providing heartfelt care that not only promotes residents’ health and safety, but enriches their lives with joy and purpose.

Like all organizations, BWCC has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic for more than three years. Whether it be slow federal reimbursements, a workforce that has dwindled in the face of a public health emergency, or heightened operational costs due to inflation and increased use of protective gear and testing supplies, BWCC’s team has bravely navigated each pandemic-related obstacle with true dedication to our community.

No matter what, the wellness of our residents and their families will continue to be prioritized. Our team is steadfast in ensuring the quality of our care and service will never be compromised. In fact, BWCC is a proud 2022 recipient of The American Health Care Association and the ​National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL)’s nationally acclaimed Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award.

There are many ways you can help BWCC maintain its vital position in the Ely community. Some ideas include:

• Spend some of your time at BWCC as a volunteer—you can help our team lead fun activities or even just spend some one-on-one time with our residents.
